But apart from that, I'm doing LOADSA WORK! Printy printy print print. Although, I can't actually dye any fabric cos the GAS IS OFF in college, ughhhh, how annoying.
Erm, here's some random stuff i've been looking at/doing.
First, drawings by katy horan are giving me lots of folksy inspiration,
And Maharam textiles company have some gorgeous fabrics to flick through.
This is a wee embroidery sample I did a few weeks ago to test my colour palette, I think it looks ok, even though the 'printed' bits are actually scribbled on in pencil! And the fabric isn't hand dyed, it was just a scrap I had lying about. I'll upload photos of the finished sample (which is quite a bit larger!) once it's finished.
I've been looking at some of John Lawrence's work recently too as his maritime stylee stuff is sort of similar to this big print I'm working on, with ships and buildings and a BIG WAVE! pictures to come soon I hope
